For everyone who doesn’t know, I’m a Herpetology Intern at Archbold Biological Station in Venus, FL. This is what I do! We are currently surveying our Gopher tortoise populations, and we do so by capturing, marking, and taking blood from all tortoises on the property. This one was a female, we already had blood work for her, but we needed to re drill her identification holes and re paint her numbers. If you see a Gopher tortoise, it IS illegal to handle them without a permit unless you’re helping one across the road. I have a permit under my supervisor. Anyways, HAPPY WORLD TURTLE DAY!

Your decision to die at a certain age may in fact affect my own success in life, it could be a matter of life or death for someone else. If i didnt score those extra marks built up from those assessments over the course of the year i might not make it in my desired course hence not get a job hence hate my life/kill myself prematurely, or eventually starve to death from a real lack of food

In conclusion if youve achieved amazing things in your lifetime please die at an age of a multiple of 10, for example if youre 40 years old and leading an unhealthy lifestyle kill yourself for my benefit

my professor for Intro to Latin America is probably the best professor I’ve ever had and I read the bio on the back of the book he wrote that we had to buy for his class and he’s like

too smart/accomplished to be teaching at USF

like waaaay back he worked for a revolutionary government in Peru (?) and he oversees elections in Latin American countries and he does expert witness testimony on country conditions in immigration cases and he’s been a visiting professor at universities in Sao Paulo and he’s written over 15 books since the 90s and he’s written waaaay more articles and he chairs panels for a buttload of stuff

like just his personal stories about when he was in Latin America (in the 70s-80s, mostly, even though he still travels frequently) are really enlightening

this dude could be anywhere, he’s a premier scholar in Latin American Studies

but he’s been teaching at USF since 1975

it was POURING when I left work to go to class and I had to walk through a river of dirty sidewalk runoff and my body from my waist down was soaked when I finally made it

and I was fine for the first hour of class, until the air conditioning kicked on

and I literally sat and held in full-body shivers for the last 2.5 hours of class

like my jaw aches from clenching my teeth kind of shivers
